Local songbirds Chaos + Harmony are taking the stage from 8pm with their blues and country tunes to get your toes tapping and in the mood to dance. Known for their harmonies and energetic guitar performances, these girls will set the scene for your Saturday night.

Calling Collie’s best wannabe b-boys and b-girls for a one-on-one breaking battle for your chance to win a share in $500 in cash prizes. Pull out your smoothest top rock, up rock, power moves and freezes to classic breakbeats.
The competition will kick off at around 10pm.
One-minute qualifiers will be held in a round-robin fashion to narrow the field to our ultimate Breaking Battle of a 1 vs 1 competition. All music will be selected by the competition DJ.
This year, we’re also running a solo section where you’ll be able to request a song to break to (meaning you can choreograph your best kangaroo, snake or echidna moves).
Prizes will be awarded for moves, costume, originality, and crowd pleasers. So get your moves and your Breaking name ready to get down!
The competition will kick off at around 10pm.
We’ll be loosely following international Hip Hop rules and regulations, which are judged on:
- Style – feeling or expressing the moves, “flava”, the manner in which you present
- Character – self-expression, facial reactions, demonstrating feelings
- Originality – individual presence and style, being different
- Smoothness – very clean in presentation and go down with no slips, falls, stuttering, rough edges or being stuck in a move
- Difficult combinations – self-explanatory
- Execution – perform the moves with correct body placement and technique
- Musicality – perform the moves in time with the music; correctly utilizing the music and dance
- Energy – Exhibiting a strong and exciting physical presence
- Creativity – bringing something new to the dance more than the basics
- Low number of repeat moves – do not repeat the same set or combination of
The Breaking Battle is open to any age over 18, or gender.
Physical contact in battles will not be tolerated and may result in a disqualification or a score deduction for the dancer or dancers involved.
Dance battlers must remain within the marked competition area at all times.
The judges’ decision is final.
