Climate and weather

Collie has quite a diverse climate with warm to hot summers, chilly frosty winters and everything in between. Autumn sees the leaves falling before the frosty misty mornings of winter.

The spring and summer months are ideal for outdoor activities such as waterskiing, swimming and camping.

Autumn, Spring and cooler days in summer is the ideal time to do some hiking and mountain biking and of course Spring is a great time to visit for the array of wildflowers.

Between December and March the weather can be quite hot which is the ideal time to take to the many water attractions in the area.

In the summer bush fires are always a threat. It is advised people planning a day walk to check the weather and fire forecasts. If the fire danger is ‘very high’ or above it’s strongly recommend people don’t go out walking on the bush trails and if in doubt and the weather forecast is for hot and windy conditions, the recommendation is not to go walking.
