South West Fire Unit Fabrication is a Collie, Western Australian based, ISO accredited, fire equipment company, that provides a broad spectrum of fire appliances and equipment.
South West Fire designs and constructs new fire appliances, upgrades existing appliances, services and repairs, and develops new technologies for specific needs on a wide variety of fire appliances. We provide a comprehensive range of accessories, spare parts and back up services.
We started building bushfire trucks in 1994 for CALM (now DBCA) and we’ve been doing it in one form or other ever since. Up until 2017 South West Fire was the single largest builder of fire appliances for both DBCA and DFES in Western Australia.
We still hold that DBCA new build contract and maintenance contracts for the majority of the DBCA and DFES fleets, seeing approximately 200 vehicles per year. We work closely with a range of private industries and with numerous South West Shires to service their volunteer bushfire brigade fleets. We service and repair vehicles across the state, from Albany in the south to Karratha in the north, all right here in our Collie workshops.
We also manufacture trailer and light vehicle slip on fire units, canopy frames, from basic to custom built designs and can assist with any fabrication or welding repairs including but not limited to boats and trailers.
