This market is held in the heritage listed Old Goods Shed on Forrest Street in the Collie CBD, on a Sunday once a fortnight.
The “shed” was once the bustling heart of the town, where the steam trains of old pulled right in to unload their cargo. One of the features of the building are the massive jarrah beams of a size that are rarely seen today.
Stalls change from fortnight to fortnight, but usually feature candles, homemade wooden toys and clocks, second hand goods, bric a brac, books, cakes, fruit and vegetables, plants and crafts.
Morning tea can be enjoyed in the lovingly restored “Coach Café” timber dining car, decorated with antiques and memorabilia from days gone by.
If you listen carefully you may even hear the conductor calling for tickets.
Stall holders are welcome and can be booked by phoning Lorraine on 0407 980 899.
