Collie unveils Western Australia’s Largest Mountain Bike Trail Network

Mountain biking enthusiasts have a new reason to explore the picturesque South West region, as Collie proudly unveils Western Australia’s largest mountain bike trail network. Following the completion of an impressive 47-kilometre extension, Collie’s Wambenger Trails network now offers riders close to 170 kilometres of rugged and scenic trails, all nestled within Wellington National Park.

This trail network connects popular spots like Wellington Dam, Honeymoon Pool, Mount Lennard, and the stunning Collie River Valley, giving riders access to a variety of landscapes and levels of difficulty. The expanded trails are designed to cater to all levels—from seasoned pros seeking a challenge to families and beginners looking to embrace the sport. New advanced and competition-ready tracks now enhance the network, complementing the beginner trails previously established around Wellington Dam.

To make mountain biking more accessible, a new bike hire outlet has also opened in Wellington National Park, offering gear rentals and a range of guided tours. This is perfect for those just starting or for visitors who want to experience Collie’s trails without needing their own equipment.

The Wambenger Trails project is a testament to Collie’s commitment to eco-friendly tourism, as it encourages visitors to enjoy and preserve the area’s natural beauty. This unique outdoor attraction adds to the region’s adventure tourism offerings, drawing more people to Collie and boosting the local economy.
