Collie has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards, recognising its commitment to fostering tourism and enhancing visitor experiences within the region. The announcement positions Collie as one of Western Australia’s top contenders for the title. Collie will be up against towns including Busselton, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and Newman.
The 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards, hosted by Tourism Council WA and Visitor Centres WA, celebrate towns across Western Australia that exhibit outstanding dedication to promoting tourism and attracting visitors to their destination. Collie’s inclusion as a finalist emphasises its status as a prime tourism hotspot in the region.
The next phase of the awards involves public voting, which opens today (Tuesday, April 30), and runs until Wednesday, May 22. The local Community and Tourism enthusiasts are encouraged to vote in support of Collie, showcasing their appreciation for the town’s unique attractions and welcoming hospitality. By voting for Collie people will have the chance to win a $5,000 travel voucher or a 2 night’s stay at RAC karri Valley Resort (for 2 adults). Votes can be submitted online at www.toptourismtownwa.com.au.
According to Chris Martin, Chairperson of the Collie Visitor Centre, “Being named a finalist in the 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards is a testament to Collie’s thriving tourism industry and the collaborative efforts of our community to showcase the beauty and charm of our town. We invite everyone to vote for Collie and help us secure this prestigious title.”

The winner of the 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Award will be unveiled during the 2024 Perth Airport WA Tourism Conference Dinner, scheduled to take place in Mandurah on Tuesday, June 11. The winning town will receive a $20,000 airtime package to promote their destination on regional television.
Furthermore, the winning towns will then compete against the winners from other states for the chance to be crowned Australia’s Top, Small, or Tiny Tourism Town.
