Your Guide to Sunny Adventures in Collie This November

Planning a day trip or looking for an excuse to spend a weekend in the region?

Here’s a little inspiration for your next Collie Adventure.

Find Your Favourite Spot by the Water

When the weather warms up, there’s nothing quite like finding a spot by the water and taking your time. Collie is home to some beautiful lakes and river pools, with plenty of places to cool off, enjoy a picnic or simply sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Top Places for a swim, a picnic, a relaxing time lakeside

Before heading out, check current access conditions and water safety advice for your chosen spot. Inland waterways can have changing conditions, and water quality can vary, particularly as temperatures rise.

Minningup Pool

Just a short drive from town, Minninup Pool is an easy choice for a relaxed afternoon. Settle on the grassy riverbank under the trees, pack a picnic or take a dip in the Collie River. It’s also a lovely spot to launch a kayak and explore the water at your own pace.

Lake Kepwari

For a day out with a little more room to roam, head to Lake Kepwari. Bring your swimmers, pack some lunch and enjoy the lakeside picnic areas, or spend the day out on the water. With designated areas for waterskiing and plenty of space to enjoy the surroundings, it’s a great spot to make a day of it.

Honeymoon Pool

Tucked among the trees in Wellington National Park, Honeymoon Pool offers a peaceful bush setting along the Collie River. It’s a popular place to swim, paddle or simply enjoy a shady spot beside the water. Bring a picnic, take in the forest surrounds and enjoy a slower side of Collie.

Stockton Lake

Known for its striking blue water, Stockton Lake is another popular spot to spend a sunny day. Whether you’re keen for a swim or just want to enjoy the scenery, it’s worth adding to your list.

Get a Head Start on Christmas Shopping

By shopping locally, you’re supporting the people who help make Collie such a great place to live and visit, while hopefully ticking a few names off your Christmas list along the way.

Trail of the Month: Arklow Trail Network

Why check out the Arklow Network?

If getting outdoors is more your thing, November is a great excuse to explore another part of Collie’s extensive trail network.

Located around 5 km north of town along Harris River Road, the Arklow Trail Network is a favourite for mountain bikers looking to get out among the trees and enjoy some time on the trails. With more than 35 km of trails to explore, there’s plenty to keep riders busy, whether you’re visiting for a quick ride or planning a longer session.

The network winds through the bushland north of Collie, offering a chance to enjoy the natural surroundings while putting your riding skills to the test. You’ll find the trailhead at Ray’s Trail car park, just past Harris River Estate Winery.

Pack plenty of water, bring your riding essentials and allow time to enjoy the trails. There are no facilities within the network, so it’s best to come prepared. You can also pick up trail information and maps from the Collie Visitor Centre before heading out.
