Dog-Friendly Collie
Bring Your Best Mate Along for the Adventure
Four paws, wagging tails, and plenty of places to explore, Collie is made for adventures with your dog. Whether you’re chasing good coffee with your pup by your side, looking for wide-open spaces to play fetch, or needing a comfy stay that welcomes the whole family (furry ones included), you’ll find it all here.
Places to Eat with Your Pup
Because good food tastes better when your best mate is curled up at your feet. From a morning coffee stop to a hearty pub lunch, these cafés and eateries make it easy to enjoy Collie’s food scene with your dog along for the ride.
- The Crown Hotel – A Collie institution, The Crown is the place for a classic pub meal and an ice-cold drink after a day on the trails. Their cozy beer garden is dog-friendly, so you and your pup can both kick back and soak up the lively local atmosphere. You can enter the Beer Garden through the side alleyway.
- The Federal Hotel – Another much-loved local watering hole, The Federal offers hearty country pub meals with a relaxed vibe. Dogs are welcome in the spacious beer garden, making it a great spot to settle in for an afternoon with friends—two-legged and four.
- Barn-Zee’s Burgers – Known for serving up seriously good burgers, Barn-Zee’s is a casual, friendly spot that’s perfect for a quick bite. Pull up a seat in the alfresco dining area out the front and share the moment with your pup by your side (just maybe not your burger!).
- The Wagon – Right in the heart of town, The Wagon is a go-to for great coffee, fresh snacks, and sweet treats. Grab your order and wander over around Central Park, where you can sit at the picnic tables or relax on the grass and enjoy the open space.

Parks & Walks - Did someone say walkies?
Get tails wagging with a wander around Collie’s parks, riverside trails, and forest tracks. Whether you’re after an easy stroll or a big bush adventure, there’s plenty of space for your pup to stretch their legs. Just remember: bring the lead, a water bowl, and a few treats for the trail.
Collie River Trail – A local favourite, this riverside walk winds through shady bushland with plenty of spots for your pup to sniff and explore. It’s an easy, scenic option that’s great for a leisurely morning or afternoon stroll.
Karak (Red) Trail – One for active humans and energetic pups, this dual-use shared trail also makes a fantastic walk. With its winding paths, forest surrounds and bursts of wildflowers in season, it’s a refreshing adventure on foot with your dog.
Around the Bridges Trail – This short, easy walk loops along the Collie River and crosses a couple of scenic bridges, making it perfect for a relaxed outing. Dogs love the open spaces, and there are plenty of shady rest spots along the way.
- Dog Agility Park – A dedicated space just for dogs! This fenced agility park lets your pup run, jump and burn off energy in a safe environment. Great for training, socialising or just a fun play session.
Soldiers Park – A lovely spot near town with playgrounds, skate park, shady trees and open lawns. It’s great for a picnic or a break, and your dog will love the chance to explore the grassed areas on-lead.
Central Park – Right in the heart of Collie, Central Park is the community’s green hub. With lawns, shade and seating, it’s the perfect place to relax with a coffee (especially if you’ve picked up something from The Wagon) while your pup enjoys the buzz of town.
- Fred Scharf Lions Memorial Park – Set along the river, this peaceful park has shaded paths and grassy areas ideal for gentle strolls. It’s a lovely stop for a quiet outing with your four-legged friend.
Harris Dam – A bit further out of town, Harris Dam offers wide trails through the jarrah forest and a beautiful picnic area by the water. It’s a top choice for a longer walk with your pup, especially if you’re looking for a nature escape.
Dog-Friendly Tips for Exploring Collie
Leads, please: Dogs must be kept on-lead in all public areas unless in designated off-lead spaces (like the Dog Agility Park).
Pack the essentials: Carry water and a collapsible bowl, especially on warmer days or longer trails.
Leave no trace: Always pick up after your pup and use the bins provided to help keep Collie beautiful.
Be mindful of others: Not everyone is a dog lover, so give space to families, cyclists and wildlife where needed.
