Collie celebrates third consecutive win at 2025 Top Tourism Town Awards

MEDIA RELEASE
29 May 2025

Collie has once again proven it’s one of Western Australia’s must-visit destinations, taking home Bronze in the 2025 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards. Marking three consecutive years of recognition in this prestigious state-wide competition.

Announced last night by Tourism Council WA at the WA Tourism Conference Dinner, the award recognises Collie’s continued excellence in providing a high-quality visitor experience, along with the town’s unique blend of natural attractions, cultural heritage, and warm community spirit.

Collie Visitor Centre Manager Kerrin Michalak said the award is a testament to the efforts of the entire town. “To be recognised three years in a row is a huge honour for our community,” Kerrin said. “It reflects the passion of our local businesses and residents who proudly share everything Collie has to offer – from world-class trails and mural art to our rich coal mining history and stunning natural landscapes.”

This year’s awards attracted entries from towns across Western Australia, with judging based on tourism marketing, visitor experience, and community collaboration. Collie’s consistent success is a reflection of its growing reputation as a nature-based adventure destination and a welcoming country town.

“We’re so proud to be part of this journey and grateful for the support of our local tourism and hospitality operators, DBCA, the Shire of Collie, and every visitor who helps put Collie on the map,” Kerrin said.

The submission for Collie’s entry was prepared in partnership with the Shire of Collie, thanks to the Shire of Collie and South32 Worsley Alumina Tourism Partnership Initiative, which has supported local tourism development and marketing for the past 2 years.
