Dr Alexander Collie Memorial

The Dr Alexander Collie Memorial, located on Forrest Street, commemorates Dr Alexander Collie, a Scottish-born surgeon and explorer who arrived in Fremantle aboard HMS Sulphur on June 8, 1829. In November 1829, Collie and Lieutenant Preston explored the region and discovered the river that would later bear his name.
