Located just 8 kilometres east of Collie, Stockton Lake is a stunning turquoise oasis transformed from a former open-cut coal mine. This unique destination offers camping, boating, and swimming opportunities, making it a favourite for families, adventurers, and nature lovers alike.

  • Camping: Enjoy unpowered camping sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Suitable for caravans, tents, and camper trailers. It’s advisable to arrive early, especially during peak seasons, to secure a spot
  • Boating and Water Skiing: Stockton Lake is popular for boating and water skiing, with designated areas and rules to ensure everyone’s safety.
  • Swimming: Swim in the vibrant turquoise waters but be aware of its low pH levels due to its mining history, which may affect sensitive skin.

Stockton Lake is a serene yet adventurous spot, offering a picturesque backdrop for outdoor activities. The lake’s unique turquoise colour and peaceful surroundings make it ideal for both relaxation and excitement.

Water enthusiasts will love the variety of activities, including water skiing, boating, and swimming. For those seeking a more laid-back experience, the tranquil environment is perfect for picnics or simply soaking in the natural beauty. While the lake is a recreational haven, visitors are advised to exercise caution. The water’s low pH levels and occasional submerged hazards require care, especially for those with sensitive skin.

  • Campfires: Campfires are permitted in fire rings during cooler months, depending on conditions.
  • Water Skiing: For more information regarding water skiing, go to Department of Transport.
  • Pets: Pets are welcome but must remain on a leash.

Camping facilities are basic but adequate, with toilets available on both sides of the lake. Campfires are allowed in designated fire pits between 6pm and 10am during cooler months, provided fire bans are not in place. Visitors should bring their own firewood as collection is prohibited in conservation areas. The campground have open shaded areas and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note that camping at Stockton Lake will require an online booking for stays from 1 December 2025. Stays up to, and including 30 November 2025 remain first in best dressed.

Camping fees are collected daily, cash and EFTPOS available.

Current fees are $15 per adult, $10 for concession holders, and $5 per child per night.
